More importantly, our crews of certified plumbers are fluent in the use of all of these pieces of equipment because we own them. Most companies rent this equipment due to their high cost of ownership. We chose to invest in this equipment for our clients and our employee’s safety.
We accomplish this is by maintaining three different sanitary cleaning machines with different size cables and a wide array of heads that achieve many different functions from cutting, scouring, to grabbing in a variety of sizes. Book with us for your plumbing services!
Allen's Plumbing Inc. provides many plumbing services including Jet Washing. Jet Washing is a process by which a specialized Diesel or Gasoline engine is used to pressurize water and then pressure washes a pipe from the inside of the pipe via a high-pressure hose with a large variety of specialized heads
We have two different pieces of equipment that we use to Jet Wash:
The Harbon Jet Machine is a diesel powered jet machine with a large storage tank incorporated into its construction. The diesel engine supplies the pressure and the large storage tank provides the volume of water to break up and in some cases cut out stoppages. This piece of equipment is very aggressive and is used to clean rust out of scaled up pipes, remove grease out of large sanitary lines, remove tree roots, and move large amounts of soil. It is most at home in commercial settings. It does though have some residential applications.
Our Small Trailored Jet Machine is a gasoline powered jet machine with a variety of heads that is tailored to use in residential and some commercial settings cleaning grease out of lines. It is a more economical solution where it can be used.

Water Softeners are great options in Central Florida for water filtration. The reason for this is that our water is piped in from farther north of us in areas rich in lime. Lime is what people commonly refer to hard water deposits. Those spots on your glass door, faucets, and dishes are an accumulation of tiny lime rocks. Water softeners filter out lime deposits giving you what people refer to as soft water.
The majority of the time the repairs that we are required to perform is minor, but taking action swiftly is critical to ensuring the repairs and the potential for other water related damages are minor. Swift action though is not a guarantee by any means. Of course, we do run into circumstances that require leak detection.
Leak detection is where we use a specialized listening device to pin point where there is a leak from a plumbing system. Upon locating the leak, Allen’s Plumbing Inc. will have to get to the leaking pipe to make a repair.
There are options for repairing a leaking system and this is a replacement. We call this a re-pipe. Allen’s Plumbing Inc. is of the opinion that the re-piping of a home is the best solution to a leaking pipe under a slab. Sometimes the damage caused to the home, depending on the offending pipes location, is more costly than if we are to simply replace all the pipes.
We find in many leak detection calls that the incoming water service pipe is leaking in the yard. We will always check for this when going on one of these calls as it is a common occurrence.
The water department has a policy that if you can provide a licensed plumbing invoice that the water that was lost did not go into the sanitary sewer system that they will credit your water bill in the excessive overage of your bill for the sanitary cleanup of the water that your home consumed. In some instances the amount of water consumed can amount into hundreds of dollars, and in a few instances, thousands of dollars.
At Allen's Plumbing, we make our recommendations to either repair or replace a sewer line based on different factors we run into while clearing a sewer stoppage, during a video inspection, and or during a smoke test.
Some of these factors are:
Typically we will make a recommendation to a client to video inspect to see what is going on with their line. During the video inspection, one of our certified plumbers will identify an issue and give a recommendation for one or more of the following services depending on the nature of the issue/issues that are found;
Sewer Repairs-
Conventional sewer repairs/replacements are where we dig up the pipe and cut out a section and/or all of the pipe and fittings and replace it with a new pipe and fittings.
Pipe Lining-
Pipe lining is a great option for the home or business that is eligible for its application. Pipe lining is where we insert a liner inside the pipe while the pipe is in place. The beauty of this type of repair is that there is minimal and possibly no damage done to the home in this repair process. Not all damaged drain lines are eligible for this type of repair as it does have some limitations.
Jet Washing-
Jet washing is where we go in and use specialized equipment to clean the interior of the pipe typically breaking up grease and or rusty build up that is clogging the line and or snagging waste and clogging the line. It is noteworthy that when you have grease or roots it is unlikely that the issue will stay resolved for a long period of time after having a sewer line serviced with a cable. With grease, the cable usually goes through the grease much like a fork passing through jelly, and after being removed, it folds back over the pathway the cable created.
The rust simply gets re-distributed within the system mounding up and causing more sewer stoppages. Roots that are removed are basically getting pruned back and will continue to grow back because of the water and nutrients that the plant has found. Jet washing, when done correctly, removes the grease and or rust resolving the issue. Roots have to be located and a sewer repair or replacement made ASAP.
Smoke Test-
A smoke test is a great option to the home that is experiencing foul sewer odor. This process typically takes 2 certified plumbers to perform as one plumber is going to run the smoke machine outside of the structure inserting smoke into the sanitary sewer drain, while the other plumber looks for a source of smoke inside the structure. The good news is if bad odors can get out of the pipe and you can smell it then smoke will get out and our plumber can see it to be able to get to the source of the problem and make a repair. This process assists us greatly in narrowing down an area to look for a repair and eliminates a lot of damage to the structure. We always have a member of our office staff call the local fire department to let them know the address, time and date that the smoke test will be going on so that they do not respond to a call from a concerned citizen because of the smoke that will billow up out of the plumbing vents on the roof.
